Il Shoo Shik (One step sparring)

 

 

White Belt to Orange Belt (8th Gup)

1: Chamber you left hand to you waist and step out with the right leg into horse-riding position while simultaneously performing a knife hand block with the left hand and a punch with the right hand to the face. Slide back to fighting position and front kick with the right leg to the solar plexus.  Return back to the original horseriding position and punch left to the solar plexus and  right punch to the face.

 

Orange belt to Orange Belt with stripe (7th Gup)

2: Step out into horse-riding position while performing a left punch to the solar plexus, then re-chamber and perform knifehand block and a punch to the face simultaneously, the same as number one.  Then slide all the way back into fighting position and chamber the right leg into a side kick. Land back into horse-riding position and punch left then right.

 

Orange belt with stripe to Green belt (6th Gup)

3: Step back with the left leg and perform a washback block with the right hand, then slide on your partner to their inside and perform an elbow to the ribs with the right arm.  Step through, yet backwards and away, with the right leg and execute back kick with the left leg, then pull the leg back and turn around and reverse punch right hand to the abdomen.

 

Green Belt to Green Belt with Stripe (5th Gup)

4: Step back with left leg and perform a washback block with the right hand, then slide to the inside with an elbow to the ribs, turn and shift into front stance and elbow with the left arm. Then turn all the way around back into fighting position and perform round kick to the temple and set down into horse-riding position.  Punch left to the abdomen and right chop to the neck.

 

Green Belt with Stripe to Red Belt (4th Gup)

5: Step back with the left leg and perform a washback block with the right hand, then using the same hand perform a chop to the neck, palm down.  Slide back and execute side kick with right leg, then land in horse-riding position and reverse punch.

 

6: Step to the outside of the attack and perform an inside to outside soo-do block with the right hand, punch left to the ribs and punch right to the face.  Checking their arm with the right hand, perform a round kick with right leg to the abdomen, retract leg and land behind them with a chop to the neck with the right hand.  Pick up the right leg and set it down to their inside while reverse punching with the left hand.

 

Red Belt to Red Belt with Stripe (3rd Gup)

7: After chambering both hands to the right side, step out into horse-riding position and then simultaneously perform a left hand knife hand block and a right chop to the neck.  Keeping the attack in check, slide the right hand down to their collar and perform a behind the leg takedown with the right leg. 

 

 

 

 

 

8: Step back with the right leg and simultaneously perform a left hand inside to outside knife hand block, then step all the way in with a right elbow to the face, and back again with the same elbow for a second strike.  Step all the way back keeping hold of their attacking arm with your left hand, then perform a round kick with the right leg and land in horse-riding position with a right forearm to the solar plexus, following by an arm break with your right arm.  Keeping hold of their attacking arm, spin to the outside into joint manipulation and finish with a punch to the face.

 

Red Belt with Stripe to Red Belt with two Stripes (2nd Gup)

9: Step back with the left leg and perform a washback block with the right hand, then slide in with an elbow strike to the ribs with the right arm.  Then strike to the groin with a hammerfist, then to the face with a backfist with the same hand.  Knock their attacking hand out of the way and execute hook kick with your right leg, then land back into horse-riding position with a backfist with the right hand.  Shift into front stance and perform left handed two finger strike to the eyes.

 

10: Step back with the left leg while performing a knife hand block with the right hand, then come in on their attacking arm with your left hand forcing their elbow into the air.  Follow this with the leg takedown with you left leg by placing your left leg between both of their legs and pulling their attacking arm forward.

 

Red Belt with two Stripes to Cho-Dan Bo (1st Gup)

11:  Start from fighting position.  Knock their attacking hand out of the way with an outside to inside crescent kick with the right leg, follow this with a wheel kick to their face with the left leg. 

 

12: Attacker starts from fighting position.  As the attacker front kicks with the back leg, step back with the right leg and perform low x-block. The attacker then performs hammerfist with the right hand, counter with a high x-block.  Holding their attacking arm with your left hand, spin to the inside for the joint manipulation and end with a uppercut with the right hand to their face.
